Orderlee is a ReactJS and Supabase web app for hospitals that routes patient transfer requests to the nearest free porter, tracks each move live from ward to destination, and verifies staff attendance with physical QR bays.

The Challenge

In many hospitals, patient transfers still run on phone calls. Moving a patient from a ward to radiology means calling around to find a free porter, guessing who is closest across towers and floors, and chasing status updates by phone. Unanswered requests can sit unnoticed until someone complains. The same few staff members end up with most of the work while others stay idle. Attendance and breaks are self-reported and hard to verify, and at month-end there is no reliable record of response times, delays or staff output.

Orderlee needed a single system that would replace this manual coordination with one live workflow for every transfer.

Our Approach

We built Orderlee as an enterprise web application centred on the full life of a transfer request, from intake to arrival. The workflow follows seven defined steps, from the moment a request arrives to the porter tapping in at a physical bay. Rather than relying on dispatchers to make calls, the system routes each request to the nearest available staff member and keeps everyone updated on its status in real time.

Each task carries the details a movement team needs at a glance: origin and destination, transport type, number of staff and a service-level target. Attendance is tied to physical QR bays, so presence is verified on site instead of self-reported. Every completed move adds to a record of performance data that managers can actually use.

What We Built

  • Automatic request intake: transfer tasks created directly from tickets, with no phone call needed
  • Nearest-staff matching: requests routed to the closest free porter, with acceptance tracked
  • Live task tracking: status updates from pickup to in-transit to delivery, visible across the operation
  • SLA-aware task cards: each move shows transport mode, staff required and its time target
  • QR bay attendance: physical bays porters tap into to verify shifts and presence
  • Operations overview and performance data: one view of the whole movement team, with records of response times and workload

Technology

Orderlee depends on many people seeing the same information at the same moment, so the stack is built around real-time data. ReactJS powers a responsive interface where task cards, statuses and staff availability update without page reloads, which suits both dispatch screens and porters on the move. Supabase provides the database, authentication and real-time subscriptions behind the live tracking, assignments and attendance records, so a status change made by one user reaches everyone else straight away. Claude and ChatGPT complete the stack, giving the project access to large language models alongside the core application.
